STATEMENT
Francisco Vidal is original from Barranquilla, Colombia artist resident in New York City for many years, although I has developed and artistic language in this city, my art reflects the Cultural values, ideals , the daily life a his Barranquilla, Colombia.
Francisco is a versatile painter who works in Oil. Acrylic, Watercolors, Gouache, his works is a Figurative behind his oeuvre reveal an artist who has passion and intellectual rigor and solid Technique to create a genuinely body of work.
The lines on my paintings are simple but they represent the mood of a people that sees beyond its present day challenges .
A people inspired by his surrounding,The mountains,street life,the market life,its music.The colors on Vida"ls paintings remind us of the magic of the tropic,where the green,the blues,the reds, the yellows,take on life of their own and became chromatic gods that bewitch you with an ultra-sensory perception of beauty.
Like Vidal puts it " During the carnival in Barranquilla all of society unite and became one, leaving aside their vicissitudes.Everyone became one body and soul ,dancing to the beat of fun instrument,
Reaching to the heights of their dreams." "Capturing emotions like love , jealousy, solicitude, violence, desperation, resentment,, hope and freedom all hidden behind a mask and portrayed on my paintings As a vehicle for a language of love and tragedy"
